I need advice about an online blog or twitter?

Both of these confuse me especially twitter but have been toying around with the idea of starting one to document parts of my life as an online diary which is open to anyone that is interested.
Does anyone here have any experience with either or can explain how they work or direct me to somewhere that can? (Especially twitter)

With Twitter you register as a member and then decide who or what (programme, company etc) to follow (keep up with) and people can follow you. You are limited to a maximum of 140 words per tweet. A blog is usually your own personal website which you can do anything with.

Yes i just saw your use of the word usually zacsmaster, however i'm still very much in the dark.
Markrae, well i'd start a blog and then tell all my friends, family and cyber friends on other forums so would have quite a good audience i would think, if not then at least i have a permanent diary to read back on and reminisce one day.

Squarebear isn't facebook the site with a lot of security and virus issues? I'd prefer something a little safer tbh.

Ooooo, I wouldn't assume anything on the Internet is permanent but your own website would certainly be more controllable in that respect than using someone else's. Not sure why you're still confused as there have been some pretty succinct answers.

Well zacsmaster i'd be lying if i told you that my brain cells have been filled to the brim with knowledge and now i understand and know everything there is to know about blogs and will never need any more information on the subject.

Not that I am aware of. It's going to be a lot more secure than anything you try to do yourself.

twitter is simply micro blogging so you need that in conjunction with your blog :)

No. no twitter. That is not yours. Choose something where you can show your personality using design, big photos etc. Social Media Platforms it's just a way to share and to advertise blog.
