Why haven't cadbury's ever launched in Amercia?

When were you last in US? It's on sale everywhere, mostly manufactured in Canada.

oh is it?? i thought they only ate hersheys... and i was in vegas in october and newyork the december before and icouldn't find cadbury's to get my fix anywhere!! oh well, at least i know it's there now.. thanks! x

I was in America a few years ago and it's available if you look in the right places. I have bought Boosts and Double Deckers in Minneapolis (Dinky Town), Minnesota.
Also, everywhere sells Cadbury's Cream Eggs around Easter.

It's really expensive though, compared to the Yankee rubbish (at least it was last time I was there).

When I say 'Yankee rubbish' I am of course excluding from this peanut butter M&Ms and all of the Reeses range - why oh why can't we have more peanut buttery chocolate in this country!

I had domestic cadbury's chocolate in the us about ten years ago. It was a big disappointment, waxier and way less mmmmmm than the English version. Many people seemed to agree with me as you could also get imported cadbury's which was much more expensive but the real thing. BTW at the time you could also get domestic dubonnet which was really evil stuff. My husband used to go back to europe on business every so often and would use his duty free allowance on european dubonnet for me!!

Cadbury in the U.S. is, in fact, manufactured by Hershey in Maryland (hence it has the sickly-sweet, waxy quality of domestic U.S. chocolate).
