Bluetooth connection to car

I am having trouble with the connection of my new bluetooth phone to my old BMW hatchback. According to the message coming through the radio screen it is connected, but all I get when I press the "RT" button which should show the numbers on my phone is the number "129". I have put all my contact number on my phone and sim card so cannot understand why it is not picking them up.

I can receive calls via the handsfree on the car so part of the connection has worked. Anyone any ideas.
