Me too. It appears that series 20 is getting a re-run, episode 1 tonight, episode 2on Jan 20th. Might be a long wait for a new series, Catswhiskas:

could someone tell me if John Nettles replacement is better, worse or just as good?

piggy, as with all things it is a personal preference. I preferred John Nettles, but Neil Dudgeon and new side kicks are ok. Neil Dudgeon did appear as a suspect in the early days but poacher turned gamekeeper, albeit under a new name!

Choux, i´m still new to this show, ive only seen 5 episodes from season 1. So far i find that Troy character irritating, a mouthy teenager!! Is he also replaced after a couple of seasons? please say yes of course!

Sorry to disappoint you but Troy lasts 7 series, followed by Scott (who I didn't like). We then have Ben Jones for a good while, with Tom Barnaby being replaced by John Barnaby in series 14.

I like it because the murders are so bizarre. The one with Richard Briers sticks in my mind.
Troy was in the first 30 episodes, he does grow on you

Does anybody remember one of the early episodes, when John Nettles cant stop eating some home made cookies. He later gets a fit of the giggles and walks along a narrow wall just like a small child. I originally thought this was unscripted, until he found out later that the cookies contained cannabis, lol!

series 1, episode 4. Faithful unto Death.

My all time favourite was Dark Autumn with the randy (can I say that?) postman. There were so many good actors in it and I loved the music
