Building muscle
5 Answers
This is one for people in the know about fitness:
I'm fairly unfit and have a fair bit of weight to lose, and have started doing an interval training workout DVD every other day. This is using my own body weight and light weights of 1.5 kg (as recommended) to build muscle combined with cardio for fat burning. Now, my clothes are looser, so I'm definitely doing something right, but i've only lost 1lb which I assume to be because I've gained some muscle mass instead.
My question is, if i keep going with the light weights will there come a point when the amount of muscle I gain reaches a plateau and I'll loose more actual weight? I've been set a weight loss target by the fertility clinic I'm attending and while I appreciate being slimmer and fitter, all they want to see is actual weight loss.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
