What is the name of numbers whose binary codes are minimally different? I'd like to Neeva them to see if they have an addition algorithm.
The numbers 1 to 9 are coded 1, 11, 10, 110, 111, 101, 100, 1100, 1101 so that each differs by just one bit from its predecessor.

Reflected Binary or Gray code. Hope this helps.
Not sure I get it sorry....so you have reordered the numbers 1-9 to make there binarys 'minimaly diffrent'??
I don't understand. Your sequence in decimal is 1,3,2,6,7,5,4,12,13.
The point of Gray code goes back to the days of mechanical switching - less prone to error if only one bit changes as you count up or down
bobbinwales, Canary42 - have a read of the Wikipedia article:

Thank you etch and nescio, I understand the concept now.
