Does anyone have any information about becoming an online moderator. Do any of you do this? . Would it be good to do in terms of extra income? .Any info would be appreciated.

Golly do people actually get paid to do it?
Have you any particular web forums (or social media sites) in mind?

Only a handful of sites use paid moderators and they're often company employees who're doing other jobs as well. (For example, AB's Editor doesn't just keep an eye on this site. It's just a sideline to the main work of AB's parent company).

The moderators on this site are all volunteers (although I seem to recall being 'conscripted', rather than actually 'volunteering'!) and that's also the case for most other sites.
I mod in a couple of places, (not here) and don’t get a penny for it.
There is a secret handshake apparently and you have to do a initiation test ;-))
Theoretically I'm still a mod at another site. Unpaid. Not that anyone ever visits it now. Now I've thought of it maybe I should pop back and see if anyone has posted in the last six months.

I know somebody that works from home for an online bingo company - sort of host/moderator that encourage punters to keep playing.
Look for "community management" jobs - that's what my job in part would be called now.
My son is one on some different gaming sites. He doesn't get paid for it.
