I know a lady local  to me who does ironing. You drop off your stuff one day and can pick it up the next ironed and on hangers. She started doing it for the reason you state, to work at home. She charges 5 per half hour of work and has so much work that she has passed some clients on to a friend. Her outlay apart from a cheap clothes rack and the iron and ironing board she already had was a couple of ads in the local free paper.
Set aside a room (if available) and set up a small creche... (I know its getting harder to do with proper training etc) but it might be something to look at.... otherwise ironing is a brilliant idea... they bring the work to u ...u do it when ur child is asleep ...and u can even angle the tv so u can watch ...I might even try it myself..... and that is the truth.....
There are always envelope stuffing jobs advertised in the paper as "work from home". I don't think they pay very much though. Could you work online? I think a lot of big sites such as amazon and ebay need people to work from home, testing websites. AOL I know ask people to visit chat rooms and make sure everyone (usually teenagers) are behaving themselves and not discussing drugs! That way you could work from home and use your computer at your convenience...

Those AOL chat room and message board jobs are volunteer, you don't get paid for it.  (I know, I worked in the Trivia area for seven years.  You get a free AOL account, and that's it.)

Do you have decent word processing skills?  If there is a school or university nearby, you could put up flyers and offer to type term papers and resumes for students.

Hi I worked for a cosmetic company and we had home helpers who used to work for us i.e wrapping soaps into packets the ones you get in hotels we used to delivery materials to homes and collect.

Good idea ....I guess you must need to be motivated to  stick to the work each day as it can be distracting at home......even if there are no children around......but motivation seems to come far easier if its a neccesity!!

.And  just as a warning be wary of some 'Work from home' companies as they can be unscrupulous..............but yes a paying hobbie or leaflet distributing, ironing, childminding, party plan etc can pay enough to get by or be more comfortable. ! Good luck Honey954
