If it's cooking oil just use eucalyptus essential oil before you use the washing up liquid as it will destabilise it and make it easier to get out. The best method I have found with oil stains is use progressively more volatile oils blotting with paper towels in between. when you are down to the eucalyptus (very volatile and fairly cheap) the stain should come out of most fabric. However this doesn't work on suede and leather. I would use a Paste of bicarbonate and water if I didn't worry too much about the end result and leave it to dry then brush off. But it will still leave a discoloured mark so I would mostly get a professional to look at it.
Liquid sugar soap. I have used the Selleys product in Australia but this is probably similar.
