He'd be be a better bet than any other potential party leader around. Anyway, there may be far fewer votes next GE anyway, if the controlling authorities are going to insist on folk having photo id. Maybe a GE with a 1% turnout might teach authorities something. (Those voting Reform may have a greater incentive to buck the trend though.)

OG: "Anyway, there may be far fewer votes next GE anyway, if the controlling authorities are going to insist on folk having photo id. Maybe a GE with a 1% turnout might teach authorities something." - seriously you think only 1% have photo id? You may still live in the stone age OG but almost everyone has photo id these days.
I always lose the election in the polls, and I always win it on election day.

From May 2021,

"Details of the voter ID plans, set out by the Cabinet Office, show the range of possible photo ID types has been expanded from initial trials, where only passports, driving licences or ID cards were permitted, to include ID such as travel passes and blue badge disability parking permits.

A newly released UK-wide study, commissioned by the Cabinet Office, found that while 98% of adults possessed at least one of these types of ID, this fell to 96% where the photo was still definitely recognisable – a necessity for use in elections – meaning about 2.1 million people risked missing out."

I have no photo ID so I will need to apply for a "Voter Authority Certificate".

There can't be many who don't have some sort of photo ID.
naomi: "There can't be many who don't have some sort of photo ID." - I think I know one!
It's B all to do with having photo id, more about refusal to be so controlled, one more step towards authorities joining up all the dots and the citizen being no better off than some non-western nations, past & present. If they wanted to make voting more secure they'd be looking at (block) postal votes not this nonsense.
Oneed photo ID to pick up a parcel from my collection point or when I work in a different store which happens maybe monthly...so once every year or few year's to vote dont seem a hurdle to me
