Can anyone list the typical characteristics that define people as far right and far left?

There are still those today who seize upon the idea that Hitler was on the left. Afterall the Nazi Party was officially called the 'National Socialist German Workers Party'.

far right parties often claim to be proletarian or workers party... it makes sense as they see it because they are all about the majority versus the minority... especially "protecting" the former from the latter!

of course saying that you are a workers party does not make it any more true than North Korea calling itself democratic!!!
