I have a raised bed with elephant garlic growing.
But as it’s a long term crop, can I plant lettuce in between?
If not what can I plant to take advantage of the space?
Slugs are a real menace - I spend summer evenings picking them off, the only remedy which works (although sunken beer trays are quite effective, but oh so messy).

Lettuce, radishes, cut and come again stir fry leaves, anything that matures quickly but so long as your rows are far enough apart for the sun to reach the garlic bulbs without being shaded too much
