Has anybody out there got the answers to:
1a Crisp unleavened bread
5d 1980s police drama
25a Protest that might be overruled
. . .and what on earth is a 'Bitter Vetch'? (it comes out as ERS in my solutions!)

Many grateful thanks, from a tired and clearly masochistic Adrienne

Ers is Ervum ervilia:
Ers \Ers\ ([~e]rs), n. [F., fr. L. ervum a kind of pulse, bitter
vetch.] (Bot.)
The bitter vetch (Ervum Ervilia).
Sorry ontarioice but the Vetch genus is Vicia
AKA Ervum Ervilia see chaper 4 of the following.

There are also other examples of this plant being called by the name you gave and the name I gave.
Trust you'll agree to this.
