Selling on E-Bay
6 Answers
I have just tried (and failed!) to sell my car on e-bay. Do they still charge you for doing this - or do they not take any money off you unless you sell the item? (it was going to cost 40.00). Thanks.

what price did you start the car at?
you will have been charged a listing fee..
which is gonna be steep....
even if it doesnt sell you are charged the listing fee..
go into ebay, go into "my ebay" and on the bottom left there should be a link to go to your account.. look for anything to do with billing history and click that, itll tell you a breakdown of what you were charged...

Yeah the initial listing fee is only 6.00 per catagory Norman, but if you have 2X catagories, bold, highlighted, featured etc, then it can mount up to a fortune and 40 is quite feasible ( I sell a lot of px's on there).
As everyone said, you won't get charged a FVF, but you will get charged for whatever your ad costs whether it sells or not.
If you want the earth for your car then you'd be better off with auto-trader or a local paper to be honest, as ebay is like the Wild West, and if you sell again, start the price low.Good luck.

yes of course,if you want to have more than one catogory and extras it will cost more to list the car,but the basic normal cost is only 6,arsenal ( and the 40) was talking about the fvf being 40.and if it does not sell, they wont get charged, that was all i was saying,i have a feedback of over 500,so i think i know a little bit about it.
Sorry I'm a bit lost on what you are trying to say Norman, I can't see Arsenal mentioning a FVF anywhere, the way it reads to me at least is that his ad cost 40 and he was wondering since the item didn't sell if they were still going to charge him for placing his ad, which of course they will. If he's on about the FVF obviously he won't be charged that since it didn't sell.
Maybe he should clear up what the 40 he quotes relates to ( an ad or what he thought the FVF would be), as clearly it will make a difference which whether he's charged it or not.
