Minty, sometimes you are not meant to know, your paths crossed at a point of need, and diverged. The likelihood is, he will be stabilised and sent home hopefully for a follow up by community nurses, who will get other services involved. You did what was in your power, and there will be other times, because you are that sort of person.
very kind words Rowan thank you.. xx at least I was able to tell the paramedics he lived alone with no family nearby and needed a home care package... and the old boy agreed that the time had come for a bit of help...
Shame about the hospital Minty. I didn't think you would get anywhere but it was worth a try. Maybe he will think to ask about you and they might help then.
if I had thought to get his phone number I could have phoned occasionally to check up on him etc.. But I feel he'll be getting the help he needs now since it was passed onto paramedics
