Medium - Long Hair, What Are Alternatives To Side Plates?

I feel a bit old to have side plaits but what other ways are there of wearing hair to the side? Preferably loose and very simple ways?

Low chignon, simple twist bun, at nape of neck lots of strands left to frame the face
Headband style plait going across the head, leaving the back free
