Abbey it’s possible you may have bitten the inside of your lip in your sleep - I’ve done that before. Try putting some ice in a face cloth or handkerchief and holding it on your lip.
First question is 'Does it hurt?' If it doesn't, I don't think I'd worry too much unless it stays around a while.
If it does, what sort of hurt?
Are there any marks visible, like a tiny hole which could indicate an insect bite?
You need to leave it for a few days to decide whether or not to be concerned. You are young, so the odds are that it is just one of those things. But keep an eye on it.
Well, I can't see it, obviously. In my experience these things are usually an allergic reaction to something, which eventually go down.
I am no medic however. If you have some anti-histamine, pop some on, or bathe in cold water. See what it is like in the morning.
Could it be start of a cold sore? Are you prone to them as they tend to occur winter anyway. Or could you have kissed someone who had a cold sore? Or shared lip gloss with someone who had cold sore? - they are passed on very easily.
