Any more anecdotes you’d care to tell us, sqad?
I think you’ve whetted quite a few appetites about your life as a surgeon. I know I’d love to hear about some/any operations you’ve performed which were particularly interesting, difficult, easier than you anticipated or are just memorable to you for any reason.

LOL....Vagus....very difficult as not all ABers want to hear about Sqad and his exploits and could lead to some friction.
Twas in Nottingham when I was still in surgical training and many of us did GP locums to raise some money. I was doing an evening GP surgery and it was packed....packed and I really had to get cracking to get through them. I had a bell which rang in the waiting room to call the next patient and nobody appeared, so I rang it again and a shy young woman came in followed by an equally timid bloke.
She had come to confirm her pregnancy and I instructed her to go into the examination room and strip to the waist. Both obeyed my instructions and i followed to find the girl on the examination couch stripped to her knickers and the guy standing by.
I did a vaginal examination, washed my hands and said to the male, that she was about 16 weeks pregnant.
He looked amazed and said that she was no relation to him, never met her before and that I had pressed the bell twice and he had followed the girl.
Always makes me smile.
I shall be watching rugby for a bit.

Was being interviewed for a Consultant post at Scarborough and District hospital although the interview was in Harrogate.
Nervous to start with and was confronted by about 12 interviews who gave me quite a grilling.
At the end after being thanked and told to wait outside, I stood up turned around and headed straight for the door.......unfortunately it was the broom cupboard.

Many young Drs from Australia who came for surgical training in UK who were already excellent "cutters"...arrogant, cheeky, but I loked that. One called Laurie X who become Consultant at St Vincent's in Melbourne ( I think), good looking, great squash and a good surgeon.
Laurie was helping me mobilise a stomach to fill the space we made removing a cancer of the stomach. Laurie really wasn't with it and stood next to the opened abdomen hold high up a thread on a pair of forceps like a garden gnome despite me telling him to cut it.
