You have just reminded me of when I lived at home and our family cat (whose name I can't tell you because it is my mum's username on here) used to sleep in really weird places. She decided to sleep on the middle stair once and my sister and me were asleep in our bedrooms. My mum was walking down the stairs with a big bundle of washing in the half light and suddenly my sister and me woke to the sounds of 'Meeeoooowww' and '*&*%*&%*&' and mum and cat tumbling down the stairs. We got out of bed to find mum and moggy at the foot of the stairs buried under piles of clothes! My wonderful cat (15 years old) does the same thing and is always tripping me up. The joy of owning a cat I think!
Not just cats. My deaf mastiff is so scared of missing anything, especially in the kitchen, that she literally dogs my heels. I have to be careful not to turn quickly whilst carrying hot dishes. It drives me wild but she can't hear me telling her to stay out of the way so I just have to grin and bear it.
They loop through your legs to show appreciation of getting food apparently - read this in some cat book, so i guess if they're hungry or you might be about to feed them they'll try and get through your legs to show how grateful they are. My cat does this A LOT, especially when i stand in one area of the kitchen (where i susually prepare my TUNA salad!) she either gets tripped over or trodden on but both of us are unscathed so far!
