"who's intellectual close friends get to call him TC" doesn't make grammatical sense. It needs to either be:

"whose intellectual, close friends get to call him TC" or
"who's intellectual; close friends get to call him TC"

ie, is it his close and intellectual friends who call him TC, or is he intellectual and, in an unrelated point, his close friends have a moniker for him?
