Same here MissT. I'm hoping to tackle my box room. It was originally meant to be the deep teal... but needed a serious clear out first. It's my 'loft' ;)
I'm looking at various shades of dark duck egg/turquoise. I did my whole kitchen...walls and cupboards...in a medium duck egg. I've used duck egg a lot...its in my tiny loo, with ferns stenciled on the wall over the toilet.
I love greeny blues and olive/chartreuse greens...with shots of burnt orange in my lounge.
Our supposed study has turned into a loft. It was an old washroom attached to the house, goodness knows when. Our desk and computer is squashed in there amongst lots of things. Mr T is a hoarder, but he's allowed to hoard in there and our huge garage I haven't set a foot inside for about 30 years!
As long as you pick a colour you like. I'm in the minority as I'm very traditional so only white for me - I was probably put off for life when years ago my partner painted our living room mustard yellow on all doors and skirting in our living room with white walls as a surprise for me while I was away for week. Totally hideous.
Blimey Chris, your first three links could be our house (apart from the staircase wall in No1) - have you been taking sneaky photos when we weren't looking? ;0)))
Chris, the first pic lacks enough contrast for my taste - too much dark woodwork, the next two look real classy. But the last pic! Yeuk, is about the best way i can think of to describe it. More 'clash' than contrast. Looks like someone threw 3 darts at a colour chart, simultaneously, and chose the colours the darts landed on :-)
The door in the last one looks like a very dark purple/plum...the two can definitely work together. It depends on how adventurous you are. The first 3 are conservative and safer.
