Driving Miss Daisy

I've seen this film before, but watched it again on ITV last night, I'm sure there was a scene where Miss Daisy stands up for Hoke who is being discriminated against in a coffee shop/diner, but unless I dropped off to sleep and missed it [which I'm sure I didn't] the scene didn't appear. Am I confusing films or was it cut for TV?

Knowing ITV, it was probably cut.
I remember the Radio Times used to carry a notice to the effect that films broadcast on BBC were not cut 'for reasons of timing' but may be cut for 'content'.
ITV, however, seem to cut films left, right and centre in what suspiciously looks like timing reasons. (eg when a sporting event or some 'flagship' programme that attracts high audiences is due on). Their 'content' editing is inconsistent aswell. I've seen swear words edited out of classic/art/serious films shown at 2 o'clock in the morning despite the same words being broadcast uncensored in some "hilarious" formulaic, out-take re-hash repeat rubbish shown hours earlier during post-watershed peak-time.

it wasnt cut. your confusing it with an episode of quantum leap which had an episode that mirrored the movie in which the main character sam beckett lept into an elderly black man in the deep south of america, who took care of an wealthy elderly lady. episode ended with the lady inviting sam to join her for some pie in a cafe which had a no blacks policy.
