I came across these two videos on YouTube. I'd more or less forgotten that there was a programme called The Dickie Henderson Show but these recordings brought back quite a few memories.

I hope that some people here might enjoy them as much as I did.

I found that very video a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. DH was quite an entertainer "back in the day". He was most lauded for his sketch portraying the drunk-at-the-bar, a la Sinatra:

Thanks, Choux. He started out in showbiz early. Here he is in 1935, in his second movie, playing alongside his father:

He came across a little bit that wat to me too. I've just had to look at Wikipedia to try to work out his accent. It seems that he was educated both in Hollywood (where he was accompanying his father) and, privately, in London.
We enjoyed The Dickie Henderson show and we also enjoyed The Dick Emery Show.
Complete contrast from the same era, chalk and cheese.
Ah, memories,very clever. Those were the days and , in my opinion, nothing now to beat it. I'm not saying I don't like today's acts but it's not the same. Nostalgia I suppose.
