I’m trying to remember the name of a film that I saw some time ago. A blind lady works in a studio where films are processed. She meets a customer and they ‘get friendly’. He is a serial murderer who murders whole families (I think). I thought it was John Malkovitch but I don’t think it is.
Any help appreciated.
The only film I can find with a blind script writer is an Almodavar one but the script writer is male. Penelope Cruz is the female lead. I think it was called First Night.
I think the murderer films families and then goes and murders them. He has an unusual name. He doesn’t relate to other people and I don’t think he has had a relationship with a woman before. A person the blind lady works with takes her home and gives her a friendly hug on the doorstep. The murderer sees that and misunderstands the hug and shoots him in the lady’s front garden after she has gone in the house.
Thank you everyone. It is Manhunter. I’ve just been reading about it and it’s definitely the one, although there is a lot more to it than I remembered. Many, many thanks (again!).
Though i found it a very good film, the best part of Manhunter was the background music prior to Will Graham diving through the window. In A Gadda Da Vida by Iron Butterfly.
