F.a.o. Sqad - Update On Results

Sqad, we had a letter today with the 'results' of the lip biopsy & viral swab.

OH is baffling medical science again (honestly, not the first time if you translate some letters from specialists in France; 'one for the book' has cropped up).

'The biopsy just shows a non-specific ulceration and there are no signs of skin cancer present. In addition I took some viral swabs which did not show the presence of HSB1m, HSB2 or varicella. 'I think we can rule out any sort of malignancy here, but currently the cause of the lower lip ulceration is unknown.'

So, a great relief regarding possible squamous cell tumour. In fact a relief all round. Something seems to be trying energetically to re-form on the lower lip though. The letter goes on to say that a follow-up appointment is being arranged.

We would give this type of situation a diagnosis of GOK Syndrome..........God Only Knows and it was more common than you might think ;-)
Good news.....now it is a matter of "monitoring the situation."

You should only use "GOK syndrome" when communicating with other health professionals. To everyone else you should mutter something about "idiopathic ulceration of the labium inferius oris", to give the impression that you might actually have some sort of clue about what it is ;-)
