thats mashing news!
I keep mine in a can. Gave up buying potatoes months ago due to the poor quality. You don't have to peel them, you don't have to throw any away. you don't have to use much energy to hot them up. But I must admit it does take a little time to get to like the taste when you first have them.
I have for years with no problems
While I like potatoes, I rarely eat them. I only ever buy one at a time.
I buy them by the sack. Keep them in a cool dark garage for ages.
I built a cupboard in our dining room to balance it out better. It's in the North West corner of the house so stays cool even in summer. Great for spuds, onions and I have got my beer kegs and taps in there too. The wife keeps her chocolate in there, not that it spends that much time in there!
We used to buy spuds in a can when working on sites in Nottingham. Great for a normal meal once you are sick of takeaways. They are a different taste but ok.
Tinned tatties,no way.Like eating candles or non-fragranced soap.Yugghh.Not even with mustard on them.

Indeed. Why on earth would you want to keep potatoes in the fridge?
Presumably not storing them in a garage in Summer...mine gets to the high 30's.
Cos me no got anywhere else.
I believe tinned potatoes are good done in the air fryer.
Perhaps someone who has tried it can confirm?
Never mind potatoes in a can! Who remembers chicken in a can? I used to hate when my auntie opened the can and a poor slimy chicken plopped out.
During the heat wave last summer I would have loved to have put my love spuds in the fridge to cool down.
Although why anyone would want to waste refrigerator space on them is beyond any rational thought.
Arksided you could always sit astride a frozen chicken etc x
Gness dear, gooo scarred for life at the thought. :-/
I have a plastic storage unit, two top drawers 1 for spuds 1 for onions both stored in blackout bags, fridge is full of salad and green veggies
Mally... this is a family site... so not willing to share what I used, thats between me and the neighbour next door. Shhhsh!!
I was amazed when I saw 'sell by' dates on potatoes. Do people actually throw spuds away when they've only had them for a week or so?
