Yes I know, Arky. I'm off again.
Thought I'd have a bit of a lie in today. So I did. When I got up to brush my teeth I discovered, with a mouth full of frothy toothpaste, we had no water.
Spluttering froth at Dave I told him. I know, he said, wiping the froth off his tummy. That is as far up as I can splutter on him.
Ahhhh. I forgot to tell you didn't I, he continued, I had a message early on saying it would be off til four.
So, said I......You'll have filled jugs and buckets?

I know there is a cost to supplying water even though we live on an island where it rains a fair bit.
Some years ago a TD (MP) decided he would get a bill through to make every home have a water meter. This could have been because he had got his hands on a hanger load of bargain meters.
The process began, the Irish kicked up and the process stopped.
I think it's planned that this year there will be a charge for water but only for excessive use and most of us are well below that.
Industrial and commercial users do pay already.
