Has anyone bought anything from the Comet clearance site before?
they have some good bargains but wondering what they would mean exactly by a ' refurbished ' item.

refurbished electricals usually refer to items which have been returned by customers to the main store becuase they didn't work properly. The company (in this instance Comet) would then fix them before selling them as full working (or refurbished) second hand items.

You can sometimes get a right bargain this way.
do you ever win the item - or is it a case of being lucky :-)
I've bought a fridge freezer, 2 dishwasher(1 for my bro), tumble dryer and a washing machine.
I've had no problems with any of them but i would say scroll to the bottom of the page and check the damage on the goods. Its usually minor but in some cases can be huge.
All but my dishwasher were brand new. The dishwasher was refurbished but arrived like new.
All my items were at least 70 cheaper than anything i could find on the net or high street.
Also don't forget about p&p usual between 24 & 30.
PingPing is right - they are items that have been returned, maybe they were unsuitable or not working fully. Either way, the store checks them over, fixes any problem and sells them on these sites as refurbished. You should note that the item could have slight marks on it as it has been 'used'.
Most refurbished sites have a rating for each item... Maybe worth a look for this on the site - if not call the helpline and see if they can give you a rating for your item
Just purchased a washing machine from Comet Clearance. Not going very well so far. Took a long time to be delivered (14 days). Now arrived and the item is faulty!
Phoned up and the best they can do is send an engineer round in 9 days. All I want is a refund now - would rather just buy a new one for the hassle caused. Can't believe it takes so long.
