File Pathway Problem
4 Answers
I thought I was pretty au fait with computers but I'm really stuck with a problem right now that I can't figure out how to correct.
I've bought a new Asus windows 11 laptop two weeks ago and I've only noticed today that some of the details entered during setup were entered incorrectly. Today, I was using OneDrive to look at some pictures I transferred to the laptop. Basically, the file pathway to the pictures folder is shown in the toolbar as:
C:\users\fred\OneDrive\Pictures\
The name "fred" is incorrect and isn't the name I thought I'd entered. It should read:
C:\users\freda\OneDrive\Pictures\
What I want to know is how can I change fred to freda throughout the computer file system ( I think it used to be called "globally ). I've just used fred and freda as examples but in essence, one letter is missing from the end of my proper name and I need to put it right! To make matters worse, it's my email name and not my proper forename that I planned to use for the files/folders!
Can a change somehow be made to put the situation right?
Thank you

You may need to be sure the directory or any subdirectories or files therein are not in use first.
'fred' (in your example) is your account username. See here for instructions on how to change it:
