Sounds good. A very definite message from the west to Putin. Wouldn't it be great if similar concerts were held across the world at the same time? Let's hope it happens.

I lost confidence in the power of music to beat dictators and warmongers ever since a song I wrote called "The Scum of the Earth (always rises to the top)" failed to improve things.
Anyway, it'll give the old boys some fun and maybe add slightly to the mood of the times and some encouragement to the poor people who are suffering in Ukraine; can't see Putin being moved a jot, though.

anyone know what happened to all that live aid concert money, as there was two concerts, massaged a few rock bands ego's but what of the poor in africa, i watched them both, erm well bits, would it send a message to putin...nah, to the russian people if they are allowed to watch it.. probably or at least the younger generation.

The original Live Aid was awesome and raised a lot of money for those starving in Africa.
I see no problem with it as that was made us more aware. we Know about Ukraine so good on them trying to help.

I don’t think the idea will be to alter the course of the war : lots of other factors are doing that. Just to raise money.
As for the response at 15.30: great: pay your money and stay away. That way everyone wins :-)

There's no suggestion that the concert will defeat a dictator or go any way to altering the course of the war, but it will send a positive and upbeat message of 'don't let the *** get you down', and that, I think, has to be beneficial. (One of those words will be starred out - but you get my drift).
