Knowing what country folk are like, my OH is from country and they tend to say things like, 'ah, just bring me a sambo or something' buy me a drink, so I guess, if you're preparing lunch for tomorrow, your mechinc is looking for an edible treat, maybe a cake or something ;)

I'll chirp with this - I have never had a puncture repaired - always always new tyres. Perhaps I have been taken on over the years.

jj, I guess I probably am not most men's idea of a typical woman driver! If you can afford new tyres just go for it, safety is the name of the game and what price do we put on our life?

Only time I have ever replace a tyre following a puncture was when I was travelling a lot of miles - otherwise I just get it repaired - I don't have that kind of money to throw away.
