In a pink and white box.

I can't open the bottle. I have nearly taken the skin off my hands trying to get the top off with a pair of nutcrackers. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Does tapping the top carefully do anything to loosen it ? How about heating the lid in the hope it expands ? One can get kitchen tools to help you unscrew things.

It's too small for any kitchen tool, it's a teeny 10ml plastic bottle

If you ain't worried about damaging a door or it's frame, you can get a good grip on the top by placing it the hinge side and closing the door sufficiently to grip it. Of course one needs to take care nothing gets crushed.

Nut crackers might grip it too.

Have you tried opening them while wearing a pair of marigolds or blue gloves? I find that a great help
I don't know what your eye drop bottle looks like but mine has 'steps' on the lid that I have to line up with main bottle to open (little ridge)

Mole grips might help. Especially if you have the curved jaw type.

Are you sure the top comes off. Some eye drop bottles you turn anti clockwise and the drops come out without the lid coming off

If all else fails can you take it in to a chemist and ask them to help. Are there no directions in the box

On my tiny bottles the first hurdle is removong a tough plastic film from the top of the cap. If necessary I use nail scissors to help snip it until I can peel it off. The actual plastic cap is captured to a plastic ring round the neck of the bottle, and the two are joined by small plastic tags. These can be snipped with the scissors, and then the cap can be fairly easily removed.

No plastic over the bottle, the top definitely has to come off. It is too small to get a grip if I wedge it in the door.
I'll have to go to the chemist in the morning, we all have very sore hands and short tempers

Try running a small sharp knife between the ring at the top of the bottle and the cap.

I've tried that, thanks, I've got four bottles the same and I'm taking them all back to the chemist today - they can open them for me. Each bottle is good for four weeks after opening so should be okay.

It is a different brand to what we normally get - no problem opening the other type

If it's a different brand before all four are opened check that the dropper has a "pointy" end. I was once given a different make to my usual one and it had a flat top. I found it extremely difficult to administer by myself.

I agree with calmck - my eye drops have to have the top twisted anti clockwise first to break the seal.
If no luck - go back to the Pbarmacy.
Packaging today is a nightmare. Good luck.

All the bottles have been exchanged for the usual brand so all is good now.
