You can and it is perfectly safe - but only if you buy from a reputable seller that you know, such as your own optician.
I certainly wouldn't buy them from an unknown seller - especially if they are not based in the UK.

i would always go to a company like Specsavers, i wouldn't trust buying them online at all.

Perfectly safe - I’ve done it for years.

Every couple of years I go to an optician to see if prescription has changed, and then buy online at half the cost for the same branded lenses of than buying them from the optician.
