Has anybody had experience of the NYC subways. Are they easy to use. I've been studying them for a trip to NY later this year and they seem extremely complicated. Thanks.
Thought the same we went but they are quite easy to be honest, hubby and I have ridden on them a few times. The staff we encountered were extremely helpful too. They wrote down what train, where to change etc and the best day ticket. Give it a go. Also it is an eye opener with the diversity of passengers.
If you have a smart phone, download an App. They are a bit complicated and there are no displays or announcements saying where the next stop is. The main thing to decide is which train you want e.g. A train, C train, S train etc and which direction (uptown, downtown, or east / west).
on the subway, working out what to pay, how and when, used to be a bit of a headache. now though, just tap your contactless card on the OMNY readers.
