Definitely, gives you about 0.01 BHP percent increase as the exhaust will be clean in side giving a better flow of exhaust gasses.
Actually, Toureman's completely wrong. The exhaust gasses will actually flow less well due to the alloy/gear ratio. I'd estimate a 0.02 BHP decrease. (serially, not consecutively).
Why do you need to accelerate faster ? - Does it not go fast enuff already ?
No.
It won't go fast enuff until you need to stop in a hurry one day.
