An Irishman, by the name of O'Malley proposed to his girl on St. Patrick's Day. He gave her a ring with a synthetic diamond. The excited young lass showed it to her father, a jeweller. He took one look at it and saw it wasn't real.
The young lass on learning it wasn't real returned to her future husband. She protested vehemently about his cheapness.
'It was in honour of St. Patrick's Day, 'he smiled.
This particular day was always special when I was at
St. Patricks' school in Collyhurst. Anyway, I'm sure all the Irish will be out in force today, so enjoy the day and I wouldn't mind betting that you'll probably hear this song in the Irish clubs and bars, wherever you are. Moiya!
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hands
Anne at 10.12 - I was thinking the same thing, I don't remember seeing a daffodil on 1st March for St David's Day and will there be a rose for St George and a thistle for St Andrew?
Happy St Patrick's day to out Irish contingent
