43 UK students were asked if they had visited France, Germany or Denmark.

10 students had been to France
1 student had visited all three countries
2 students had visited France and Germany but not Denmark.
3 students had visited Germany and Denmark.
11 students had not visited any of the countries.
6 out the 19 students who had visited Denmark, had been to at least one of the
other countries.

1. Represent the above information using a Venn diagram.

2. How many students visited Germany only.

3. Two of the 43 students are chosen at random.
Work out the probability as a % that they both had only visited France.

I get 6 for Germany only.....but I assumed that where it says 3students had visited Germany and denmark that don't include the 1 person who went to all 3countrys

Hi Douglas, there is some truth in what you say. My grandson's strongest subjects are Biology and English. Predicted GCSE grades 8/9 !!

His predicted grade for Math is 5/6. There is approx 6 weeks before he sits the first Math paper. He now realises how important (core subject) it is looked upon in the job market thus he's going all out to get a grade 8/9. With the clock ticking ever faster, he is selecting all the difficult questions from past exam papers and teacher homework.

After Easter holidays he'll be revising for 12 GCSEs but opted only to do 3 A-levels (grades permitting).

So once again, let me thank everyone for their contributions!!

Hi perseverer, Bobbin's first answer is correct!! Unfortunately my grandson feels he would not attain full marks using Bobbin's answer!!
