Onw Or Two Gods

I've not been on for a while, and would like some input on this.
In the old testament, God was not a forgiving God, when you take into account the millions of people who would have been killed in the flood, there's Sodom and Gomorrah, the ordering of conquests, certain people to be killed,
If the children of Israel disobeyed him, he punished them etc, etc, etc,
In the New Testament, God is suddenly a merciful God, the exact opposite of the God in the old testament'
My thoughts are that there are either two Gods, no God, or a schitafrenic God.
I await your thoughts on this.

Hi naomi, I never saw your or subsequent replies, I very seldom come on here now, but is nice to see your name on here again. I still have a problem with the God Question, eg, part of our service says that God is, (can go along with that), God will always be, (everlasting life is always a possibility), God was always there, before before anything else. (this one), I mean, how long was God there before he/she/it decided to create everything there is. addles my brain a bit (methinks I dwell on it too much)
