Reflective Window Film

I have a roll of reflective window film that I plan to apply to a double glazed window.
There are no instructions with the roll of film, but having watched several instruction videos on Youtube I think I'm ready to give it a try.
The problem is, some of the videos seem to apply the film on the inside of the window, while others apply the film on the outside of the glass.
Does anyone have experience of using window film and could offer some advice, please?

inside, otherwise the film would be exposed to wind, rain, ice etc.

I've always put film on the inside, where I can adjust or remove it if need be and it won't get damp or dirty, but you'll want the reflective side facing outward, so best check that this suitable for sticking on glass.

That's what I thought, Winner, but a couple of the manufacturers said it should be applied on the outside. Seemed a bit foolhardy, as I live on the coast, overlooking the wild Atlantic ocean.

Thanks jno you have confirmed what I thought - inside the glass makes more sense.

I suppose it depends on what you are using it for. On living room windows so no one can see in, put on the inside. If an internal door in a bank and you don't want the queue to see inside your private office, I suppose it would be better on the outside. (But outside in the elements, I'd say no.)
