Hi. I need to sort out a music system for my restaurant. It could be plug and play or have a seperate amp but needs to be a 4 speaker system. The idea is to run it from a laptop or an ipod. Can anyone suggest a system to check out. Budget is up to £250 (already got the laptop and ipod). Thanks

a £250 budget will just cover the (approx) £250 a year (depending on size of the restaurant) you need to pay for the license to play the music.
Maybe running costs are a different budget ;-)
Have the customers demanded music ?

I bet many of them, like me, abhor the plethora of "background" music now foisted upon us in otherwise outstanding restaurants.
Fair point OG... :)

I was just trying to point out to the OP that they will require a PRS license to play music in a restaurant in case they weren't aware.
Something like this will work well in a restaurant environment http://www.rs100.co.u...nd_Music_Sound_System

Look at 100V line systems.
And a PPL.

We already have a prs license. My question was about a music system - not what license is required to play it - I hate it when people on here try to be smart rather than just answer the question posted!

Canary42 - We have a very busy real ale pub below the restaurant so we wanted to drown some of the noise out. A few customers have made the comment, hence looking into it. A music system would help on the occasions we have party bookings too. Somedays can be very quiet at times too so i do think it helps to create an ambience for the customers. Also i am not planning on playing Adele or elevator music

Fender62 - This would also require an amp too would it not?

Muzo - Thanks but need small(ish) wall mountable speakers. Any other ideas?

How big do you think this restaurant is?!?! constant V systems would normally be used with dozens of speakers spread over 100's of meters!
It's a 4 speaker system in (I assume) a fairly small room?

Any half way decent consumer amp with A and B speaker outputs combined with 4 halfway decent bookshelf speakers will do what you want.

Cheers Chuck - is there anything you could recommend? I'll be having a look but it really is something i know nothing about!
A restaurant music system is a sound system designed for use in dining establishments. I can say that at https://menu.reviews/ and learn more new ways to order takeaways online. It typically includes speakers, amplifiers, and a music source, such as a streaming service or digital music player. Restaurant music systems can help create a desired ambiance and enhance the dining experience for customers.
