Bbc Quiz : Week 16

Hmmm.
It only seems like a few days since I last posted the quiz links but the calendar seems to be telling me that the world is a week older and I’m a decade older. Er, how does that work then?
Oh well, let’s get started anyway . . .
Another ‘middling’ start for me in the main quiz this week, with a score of FOUR out of seven:

A decent enough (in my opinion) score of SEVEN out of ten for me in the Timed Teaser this week:

So I make that an aggregate of score of 15 for you to better if you’re to beat me this week. (You should definitely never trust a maths teacher to add up tough!).
Will Lie-in King come out on top (as he nearly always does), I wonder, or will Karamia upgrade her fantastic double-perfect score from last week to a triple-perfect one this week, I wonder?

I reckon that we can call a difference of just one point 'statistically insignificant', so that makes us even ;-)
The Cosy Club is always lovely. I only eat out at anywhere remotely 'posh' very rarely but, when I do, the Cosy Club is definitely one of my favourite places. It's 'upmarket' but not wildly expensive. (Three courses for two people, plus a couple of drinks each, cost me £89. That's certainly not something that I can afford every day but I reckon that it's OK for a special occasion, especially when the food and the service are always top rate there).
The Troublesome Trio all got special food yesterday, as well, of course ;-)
I hope that you and Shady are both enjoying life to the full and that you'll both have a lovely weekend.

Mine: Garlic prawns with paprika butter, parsley, lemon, toasted sourdough.
My mate Reg's: Crispy duck salad with cherry hoisin, pomegranate, rainbow salad, sesame, Szechuan pepper.
Mains:
Mine: Seared seabass with tamari & ginger teriyaki noodles, sugar snaps, red pepper, sesame, chilli, lime
Reg's: Harissa torn lamb shoulder with spiced cauliflower purée, tzatziki, flatbread, pomegranate, pickled slaw, crispy chickpeas
Sides, to go with the mains:
Both of us: Roast baby potatoes with garlic & Twineham Grange butter
(Actually, that's what we both ordered but they'd just run out of them! So we settled for some very nice fries instead; it didn't spoil our enjoyment of our meals though).
Desserts:
Mine: Lemon posset with raspberries, white chocolate.
Reg's: Sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch, vanilla ice cream
It's actually the drinks that can add a fair bit to the bill at the Cosy Club. I had a couple of small cans of craft beer, at £5.50 each. Reg had a couple of largish glasses of the house medium white wine. (I didn't notice the exact price of those).

^^^ I've just found the receipt. My beer was a bit cheaper than I said and Reg's wine glasses were only 175ml (which is 'medium', rather than 'large').

Great idea, Haras2! I've yet to meet anyone who's been disappointed by the Cosy Club restaurants.
There was a time when any 'chain' restaurant was unlikely to be as good as a decent independent one. Things have changed a great deal nowadays though, with many 'chain' establishments offering better value than independents without any loss of quality at all.

Well done on being both a near-perfect kid and a reasonably good sprinter too this week!
I love both sea bass and sea bream. We've got a fantastic mobile fishmonger, who parks his van up just down the road from me every Friday morning. His fish is absolutely gorgeous, and very reasonably priced too, but I don't get to buy it that often because I'm not a morning person! (He buys his fish from Lowestoft fish market at 4am and opens his van up here at 6.30am. He's often sold out by around 9.30am, which is bad news for someone like me who often doesn't get up until around lunchtime!)
