We have been there often. We've known it since it was just a quiet little country pub. The three Pigs. We had friends in Edgefield. Dead now :0(. We were last there before I was ill.
But the second home owners have pushed prices up right out of proportion Bednobs. Covid made it worse in this area when the rich fled their city dwellings and ought second homes To be honest we struggled like mad when interest rates were at 15%. So many young people lost their homes back then, or could afford to buy.
OH and I nought our first house after arriving here when interest rates were 15.9%.
"Oh, property is cheaper here...your money will go further"...his mother said.
The house was half the size of our Brooklyn co-op but the garden was 400feet deep from front to back...and the River Ouse wasn't too far from our back garden. So...win some, loose some. It was certainly good for our daughter.
