Coronation Weekend
71 Answers
Are you doing something/anything, different/interesting, over this weekend, regardless of your feelings about the Royal Family?
We’re doing as we usually do during a bank holiday, staying put apart from taking dog for a walk.
We have our own menu planned for the Big Lunch on Sunday but will have it in the evening. On Saturday we’re having sausage baguettes and a bottle of fizz, followed by meringue nests, at lunchtime, all easy peasy and quick so I don’t miss much of the coronation.
We’re not doing any volunteering on Monday, we’ve both done a lot of volunteering in the past and feel we’ve done our bit.
So how will your weekend pan out?

I was looking at photos of the queens coronation and saw that the queen mother and princess Margaret both had long dresses and tiaras (or maybe coronets) on, which is what made me wonder what Kate and the other royal ladies will wear. Beatrice and Eugenie too…

I suppose it is possible as the wife to the heir she may wear a long gown and a tiara; I doubt that Beatrice and Eugenie will - they are quite down the pecking order now. As long as Beatrice doesn't wear one of her hideous hats! Eugenie always looks lovely, but I do not think her elder sister quite gets it right.
I think Princess Anne will be in military uniform since she is now appointed Gold Stick and apparently has the responsibility for the safety of the King and will ride behind the Gold Coach. I cannot think of anyone better since when faced with a gunman who ordered her to get out of her car in the 1970s she retorted "not bloody likely".

Barmaid.... the PoW will look stunning in whatever she wears. She could wear a binbag and it would look marvellous. I think she has a natural poise, class and beauty. I'm quite a fan of hers. [i
Me too I quite agree, a natural beauty -ful person.
I'm sure the news bulletins will let me know the designers and what she's wearing. [i] Whoosh]
