What Are We Supposed To Do All Day?!

I know evestone is gonna say oh boohoo your life is perfect but please hear me out.

21F I work from home one day a week on a successful business I started, I have lots of money I can do anything, I have a clean minimalistic home, I am married but my husband works 8-12 hours a day 6 days a week. I’m an only child, all my extended family are gone, I have no parents, no friends, no way to make friends as I live in a retirement town and can’t move because my business is successful here. There is no volunteer work that interests me, I don’t want it travel alone and hubby can’t because he works, I’m allergic to animals so I can’t get a pet, I only have 2 to cook for so I can’t keep baking all day every day. And I don’t need a day job it would just be an unnecessary amount of money and stress. I have already lost a bunch of weight and worked on myself.

Basically I have all the free time, healthy, wealthy and in my prime and I have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions? I’m so bored and lonely I’m so depressed and failing to see the point of life. I know I won’t be doing so well one day and I’ll wish I did more but I’m simply not interested in travel or volunteering. If you had my luck what would you do with your time?

You gave the impression in earlier questions that you work full time from home and your husband works full time away from home .

I suggest you spend all your time on this site answering other people's questions. Might not help you but it will pass the time and you will certainly strike up some interesting conversations.

I think this has probably already been suggested, but the only thing that comes to my mind is volunteer work.
You could probably work hours that suit you, you will meet new people, and at the end of the day, you will probably feel satisfaction that you are helping people who are probably less fortunate than yourself.

Educate yourself on subjects you are not yet familiar with. Read books. Learn a skill, painting, drawing, singing, musical instrument, car maintenance. Find a cause to get behind. Offer to mow your elderly neighbours' lawn. Start a local social group. Whatever.

Get a job as a barmaid, you can work day or evening shifts and be paid a few pounds. You'll meet loads of people, make a few friends and increase your social life.

I've been working a couple of shifts a week since last summer. From being indoors pretty much all the time, I now go to woodwork classes with two other barmaids, have been invited to people's homes and I'm going to Greece at the end of May with five new friends/virtual strangers.

Carrot99 i wouldnt recommend working in a pub! I did, worked in 3 actually, too many drunks! Not always good places to make friends!

I was going to say similar, get a part time job in a cafe or a visitor attraction, not for the money but for the social life. You’ll meet new friends and talk to the customers and start to feel part of the community.

You may be bored...but you sound like a boring 21 year old. Where on earth did you get the drive and ambition to develop a business that has made you wealthy? And how do you keep that business going by working 'just' one day a week? A person with drive and imagination would be full of ideas about how to spend both money and time.

Volunteer for a charity. Work in a charity shop. If you drive, then volunteer for meals on wheels.


As for the replies you get on here, people will look at your other posts and pick up discrepancies. Sometimes lots of discrepancies point to a non-genuine question.
