Smarty 5G Hotspot Hub
6 Answers
Does anyone have knowledge on how the system works?
I assume the Smarty hub uses 5g sim card. So if my other phones with 4g it should work when connected to the router when it is configured as hotspot. Is this assumption correct? Or do I need a 5g phone.?
Also the contract says 24 month, but it also mentioned about 1 month contract. But can't find any detail on how to sign up the one month contract just in case if the thing does not work.

So you can connect any WiFi-enabled device to, irrespective of whether that device uses 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G when used on its own. So, as you've assumed, you can connect a 4G phone to a hotspot that itself connects to a 5G network without any problems.
I'm lost with the other part of your question though. Googling 'smarty hub' finds nothing of any relevance and I can't see anything on the Smarty website to suggest that they supply MiFi devices. So I think that we might need some more information, or perhaps a link, for us to be able to work out exactly what it is that you're referring to.

Look like Smarty had removed their 5g hub package as I know longer see the details in the website.
However, I have seen the parent company (3 network) offers the deal now. It's £10 for first 6 month then £20 for the next 18months.
Then they offer another plan for monthly rolling contract at £24 per month.
I am tempted to try the monthly plan first to see if the coverage is any good. My current 4g voice call is terrible on Smarty (3 network), but it's £10 per month, 60g unlimited data.

I think that there might be some confusion here. Your smartphone is basically a mini-computer that can connect to the internet using either WiFi or a 4G network. (So, for example, you can visit AB, access your email account or log into Skype with either type of connection). However the actual phone app on that mini-computer needs to be able to connect into the 4G network so that, for example, Three's 'virtual telephone exchange' can recognise the phone number that you're calling and route it accordingly. Just as you can't make phone calls with your phone using your home WiFi network (other than via Skype, etc), you wouldn't be able to make them via a MiFi device.
If you're getting a lousy signal with the Three network, you need to switch to a different one. Unless you're constantly playing video games, watching (or uploading) countless YouTube videos or using your phone to watch lots of Tv programmes via iPlayer, etc, you almost certainly won't need anything remotely close to 60 GB of data per month. The 12 GB I get for a tenner a month with Asda Mobile (which uses the Vodafone network) is vastly more than I ever use and I'd be surprised if many AB members ever use that much data too. (GiffGaff, which uses the O2 network, offer a bit more data for a tenner though, with 15 GB).

I'm on smarty my smartphone is my wifi, for the internet £10 per month for 30Gig, they're currently running it double so I get 60gig per month for a £10 which is more than enough. It is a rolling contract so can opt out anytime with ne added fees.
I like them not like those fluffers at o2 took me ages to escape them.

The reasons I am still using Smarty ( 3 network) is cheap for the data bundle, which I need for working from home as hotspot.
I previously on Vodafone, the coverage is similar to Smarty. When I make a call or receove a call, I need to walk to the windows or upstairs. The best network coverage I had was EE, but it was getting too expensive. Anything owned by BT is now becoming expensives. Before I was with Plusnet, again it was bought up by BT and now I have not renewed the broadband with them ad they are too expensive and the customer supports are no longer good as before. Vodafone is good, but I can't use their broadband as it doesn't work with work VPN.
