david s is right, but I understand the feeling. OH (hit his 90th birthday last month) says he's glad he lived when he did and that he is at the end of his lifespan. I'm arguing fiercely.

An expression I have known and used for many years is, 'Oh dear you seem to have put up a black' meaning ' You have blotted your copybook'. I have been advised I am racist by using this expression. I am sure most of these young woke idiots wouldn't know what a copy book is either.
