Anyone have experience with this?
MIL just got her P60 with the tax code 0502L - I wasn't expecting to see this code.
I don't have a lot of experience with tax codes.
She gets her pension and an income from shares.
Thanks in advance

//RETRO, if you have a read of this link, you'll see that HMRC deals with a lot more than just income tax or tax and there will be many different job roles within those areas.//
I am fully ware of that. A family friend of ours works in the VAT Dept. I used to work with the TIV Dept and reclaim thousands of pounds of unpaid import duty. I also worked with their drugs enforcement dept when I was often at their Lab in West London which culminated to a visit to Sugar Quay.

The thing I find strange is that there does not seem to be any inter department communication;
In my old job if a beat officer wanted help or advice on a traffic matter he could call his local Traffic Garage.
If advice was required on any subject out of our particular speciality we picked up the phone, introduced ourselves, and requested the information we required. It was always readily given with a pleasant interchange. I suppose Civil Servants just don't talk to each other.

Well you didn’t need to be aware of it as it had no impact on your ability to answer a question sensibly.
