They could use another drone perhaps to try an hit it, another thing is if this becomes a regular occurrence by eco loonies then they should make interfering with airspace a terrorist offence.

If that is to me, I am aware of that.

Even with no planes in the air, if they shot down the drone, there could be debris scattered over a wide area which would need to be collected.

If any bits were not spotted and picked up, there could be major damage to planes landing or departing.

shouldn't have given away all those missiles to Ukraine when they're needed at home, obviously.

Still, the story says only a "suspected" drone: if they couldn't even see it, sharpshooters would have trouble shooting it down.
