Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Monthly competition puzzles
Send your solution and your attempt at a prize-winning alternative clue to Azed No. [enter puzzle number], PO Box 518, Oxford OX2 6WX. One attempt at an alternative clue per person only. Please note that your clue should be on a separate piece of paper, securely attached to the solution sheet, and your name and address should be on both. Please also include a brief explanation of your clue. Entries must be postmarked no later than the Saturday following publication of the relevant competition puzzle and must reach Azed by no later than 8 days following publication (ie Monday week following publication). Emailed entries will also be accepted, addressed to [email protected]. Emailed entries must reach Azed by no later than the Saturday following publication of the relevant competition puzzle.

Weekly prize puzzles
Print off your solution and send it to Azed No. [enter puzzle number], The Observer, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London N1 9GU. Entries must be postmarked no later than the Saturday following publication of the puzzle and must reach us within 10 days of publication of the puzzle (ie by Wednesday week following publication).
