Broadband Providers

Virgin are again increasing my broadband monthly payment. I am with them for a good few years so its time for me to exit and go elsewhere. Loyal customers are always the ones to suffer the pain. My query is, does the Vodafone gigabox have the same wifi, broadband range and capabilities of the Virgin media hub? In other words, are they both about the same? Also, if my Virgin monthly payment falls on the the 10th of each month would the best time to request cancelling their service be on the 11th? I presume i pay one month in advance. Thank you.

Then they called and explained what would happen. You need to give 1 months notice and that is a full month. But I was surprised to get a refund of £8.09 for the odd days. So the day you call them will make little difference. After the disconnection I had to remove their equipment and they arranged collection. Excellent service.
I accept the suggestion to try and ring them. But, from past experiences it is a waste of time trying to talk to anyone in these companies. You are past from one robot to another and after maybe an hour you get to speak to a human and then you have to again repeat ad nauseum to them everything about your personal details. I think my best chance is to request cancelling my account online and then see if they will call me instead begging me to stay.

BT are now rolling out their Full Fibre to many more areas nationally: some good deals to be had.
If your initial 18/24 month contract with Virgin has now passed you can leave without forfeit: if the BT Full Fibre is now in your area use it to force a better/cheaper deal with Virgin.
